After a season at the University of Southern California (USC), Bronny James will join the NBA draft.

The 19-year-old 'heir to the throne' and son of NBA legend LeBron James announced on Instagram that he, too, intends to move schools while retaining his college eligibility.

"This past year has been filled with both challenges and opportunities for personal growth—in my roles as a man, a student, and an athlete," the younger James reflected.

In the hours leading up to USC's announcement of Eric Musselman as head coach, James announced his choice online. On Monday, Andy Enfield departed to take a coaching position at SMU; he was succeeded by him.

This week, the elder James explained that Bronny is independent. 'Some difficult choices are ahead of him. He will inform us all when he is prepared to make those selections. But we're going to be there for him no matter what as his family.'

James started in six of the Trojans' twenty-five games and averaged 4.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest. His field goal percentage was 37%, his three-point percentage was 27%, and his free-throw percentage was 68%.

Throughout the season, the older James, his wife, and their 9-year-old daughter were regulars at the Galen Center, cheering from the courtside.

A representative for the father and son duo, Rich Paul, recently stated that "values a young player getting into the right team in the right developmental situation" rather than "values a young player getting into the lottery."

The 6-foot-4 combo guard James didn't participate in his first collegiate game on December 10th. After that, James thanked the medical staff, athletic trainers, and supporters who had aided in his comeback to play for less than a minute during his brief media appearance.

James refused to speak with reporters at any point throughout the season, despite repeated pleas.

While exercising at the Galen Center on July 20, he suffered a cardiac arrest episode. His congenital cardiac abnormality was determined to be curable. The 78th edition of the NBA's draft will be held June 26th-27th at the Barclay Center.
