The wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, Rashee Rice, turned himself in to police on Thursday after being involved in a collision involving multiple cars on the North Central Expressway in Dallas. He faces multiple charges, including one second-degree felony count, which carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison and a fine of $10,000.

Rice was freed on bond on Wednesday, the day after charges were announced. According to the police, on March 30, Rice was racing with another motorist on a Dallas freeway while operating a Lamborghini. According to an inquiry, there was a "chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles" as a result of both drivers losing control. The initial story and dashcam footage from other vehicles quickly went viral.

Two victims in the collision had minor injuries treatment at the site, while two passengers in another vehicle were sent to a nearby hospital for additional medical attention.

After charges were filed, Rice was given 24 hours to turn himself in to the police. He turned himself in on Thursday, was transferred to DeSoto Jail after being arrested at the Glenn Heights (Texas) Police Department and was then released on bond. According to WFAA-TV, his entire bond was $40,000.

In all, Rice is accused of eight crimes. According to Dallas police, there are six charges of collision causing bodily injury, one charge of collision involving serious bodily injury, and one charge of aggravated assault.

SMU cornerback Teddy Knox was the other driver, who authorities stated was operating a Corvette. Knox was not only hit with the same eight charges as Rice but also had his football career halted by the Mustangs. The NFL's personal conduct rules allows for penalties, however thus far the league has not commented on Rice's situation. The Kansas City Chiefs have been silent as well.

Rice, a 2023 second-round draft selection by the Chiefs, finished his rookie season with 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns.
